Weather Forecast for Jan 30: Snow in Kashmir, Himachal; Rain in Punjab, TN, Kerala

The Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir has moved away. Another fresh Western Disturbance can be marked over North Pakistan and adjoining Afghanistan. With this, light to moderate rain and snow are likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand.

Meanwhile, isolated rain and thundershowers may occur over parts of North Punjab including Chandigarh. Moderate fog is likely to make a comeback over northwestern plains. Also, morning temperatures are expected to drop by 1 or 2 degrees over the region.

Dry weather will continue over central and eastern parts of the country, with marginal rise in maximums and slight drop in minimum temperatures are expected.

Coming to Northeast India; dry weather will prevail, however hilly terrains of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya may record light rain.

Meanwhile, parts of East and Northeast India may witness shallow to moderate fog.

Down South, a trough of low close to South Tamil Nadu has become less marked. Moreover, another trough extending from Konkan region to Comorin area has become insignificant. Due to this, rain activity will decrease significantly; however light rain may continue at few places over South Tamil Nadu, Kerala and South Coastal Karnataka.
