Weather Forecast for Jan 29: Snow in Kashmir, Himachal, rain in Chennai, Bangalore

A fresh Western Disturbance is seen affecting Jammu and Kashmir. With this, scattered light to moderate rain and snow will continue over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Hilly shrine of Vaishno Devi will also witness few spells of rain and thundershowers.

Meanwhile, northwestern plains will witness clear weather conditions, paving way for cold northwesterly winds. Days will witness bright sunshine with marginal rise in day maximums, while minimums will slightly cooler with drop in minimum temperatures by 1 or 2 degrees. With this, moderate to heavy fog is likely to make a comeback over the plains.

In absence of any weather system, Central and East India will witness clear and dry weather conditions.

A cyclonic circulation is seen over North Bangladesh and adjoining northeastern states, which will bring isolated rain and thundershowers over Assam and Meghalaya.

Down south, the trough continues to extend from Southwest Bay of Bengal up to South Tamil Nadu. With this, scattered light to moderate rains will continue over Tamil Nadu, Kerala and South Interior Karnataka. Chennai and Bangalore are also likely to witness isolated light rain and thundershowers.
