Weather Forecast for Jan 21: Rain in Andaman, Cold wave in Odisha, Sunny days in Northwest India

To start with the weather of North, the feeble Western Disturbance over North Pakistan is moving away eastwards. As this system is weak in nature, not much weather activity is anticipated over the North Indian Hills. Weather will continue to remain dry.

Meanwhile, intensity of fog is expected to reduce over Northwest India. However, shallow to moderate fog will continue during the morning hours. In fact, dense fog may occur in pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh. Also, days will remain sunny, with maximum temperatures settling above the normal level by 2-4 degrees.

Talking about East and Northeast India, the weather would remain dry. Shallow to moderate fog is expected over several places of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. In fact, few pockets of the mentioned regions may also witness dense fog like Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Patna.

Interior parts of Odisha are likely to observe cold wave conditions, with minimum temperatures dropping 4-6 degrees below the normal level. Meanwhile, shallow to moderate fog is expected over scattered places of northeastern states. Both day and nights are likely to remain comfortable over the region.

Moving to Central India, an anti-cyclone is seen over Madhya Pradesh. So, the weather would remain dry, with warm and sunny days. We expect maximum temperatures to settle in higher 20s, possibly exceeding 30 degree mark in some pockets.

The west coast will observe hot and humid days over several places, with maximums settling around 34-35°C. However, the east coast will witness comfortable days, with maximums ranging between 30 and 31°C. Humidity will remain on the higher side over this region as well.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Moving further, a cyclonic circulation is seen over South Andaman Sea. With this, scattered light to moderate rains will continue to affect Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Another cyclonic circulation is seen over Lakshadweep off Karnataka and Kerala Coast. So, scattered light to moderate rains are also possible over Lakshadweep.
