Weather Forecast for Jan 2: Fog in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, UP, Minimums to dip in Gujarat, Rajasthan

Beginning with North and Northwest India, a feeble Western Disturbance is prevailing over Jammu and Kashmir. However, as this weather system is weak, so no weather activity is foreseen in terms of rain and snow over the North Indian Hills.

Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation is seen over West Uttar Pradesh and besides this, light winds will continue across Northwest Plains. Thus, dense to very dense fog is predicted over many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, while isolated parts of North Rajasthan would too observe similar weather conditions.

Moving to East and Northeast India, dense to very dense fog is likely over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Whereas moderate to dense foggy mornings would persist in parts of Assam and Meghalaya. Cold day conditions are also possible over parts of East Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Light rain may occur over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and isolated parts of Coastal Odisha.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Coming to Central India, the weather would continue to remain dry with clear sky conditions over the entire central parts of the country. Night temperatures are likely to register marginal drop over West Rajasthan, Gujarat and parts of Madhya Pradesh.

Lastly in South India, a trough is running from west central bay to North Bay of Bengal. With this, partly cloudy sky is expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, but the weather will remain dry. Rest of South Peninsula would witness dry and warm weather conditions.
