The Western Disturbance is persisting over Jammu and Kashmir and is likely to move away. However, scattered light rain and snow will continue over the higher reaches the state, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Dry and chilly winds from snow-clad Himalayas will continue to blow across the northwestern plains. Most parts will remain under the grip of cold wave.
An anti-cyclone is marked over central parts of the country. Warm afternoon with partly cloudy sky can be expected over the region. However, few parts of Madhya Pradesh may observe rain and thundershowers.
Coming to East and Northeast India, mainly dry weather will prevail. Shallow to moderate fog is likely over some areas, particularly over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. Marginal rise in morning temperatures are foreseen over eastern parts.
Down South, the weather of South Peninsula will remain dry. A trough of low over Gulf of Sian will give heavy to moderate rains at few places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
