A Western Disturbance is persisting over North Pakistan. It is expected that it will start affecting Jammu and Kashmir by January 14. While, dry and cold moderate northwesterly winds are blowing across Northwest India. Due to these winds, entire Northwest India is almost fog free and we do not expect dense fog in the coming days also. Weather would remain almost dry due to the absence of any significant weather system. However, the minimums would fall by two to three degrees after two days.

Moving to East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is persisting over Bangladesh and adjoining regions. We expect dense to very dense fog over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and northern parts of West Bengal. Meanwhile, moderate to dense fog would also occur over remaining parts of West Bengal, Tripura and Assam. In fact, cold day condition is likely to persist over northern parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
In Central India, due to gradual rise in temperatures cold wave conditions have abated from many parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. In fact, temperatures are also expected to rise marginally over South Rajasthan, Gujarat and West Madhya Pradesh.
Down South a cyclonic circulation is seen over South Andaman Sea and moderate easterly winds are blowing over Tamil Nadu. In wake of these weather systems, we expect light rain at a few places over Andaman and at isolated places over South Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Meanwhile, weather of remaining parts would be dry.
Live status of Lightning and thunder
Talking about the major cities of India, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai would remain dry and sunny. Lucknow and Patna are likely to witness dense fog meanwhile, Kolkata would witness moderate fog.
