Dry and cold northwesterly winds will further drop the night temperatures over the northwestern plains including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. Cold wave conditions will continue to grip parts of the region. Frost is also expected at some places over Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan.
Minimum temperatures are also expected to drop by 1 to 2°C over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh.
A trough is seen extending from Odisha up to Telangana. In wake of this, partly cloudy sky is likely over coastal areas of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, but the weather will remain dry.
Down South, the weather will remain clear and dry over Southern Peninsula. The well-marked low pressure area over East Bay of Bengal has now weakened into a low pressure area. With this, light rain and thundershowers are expected over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. This system is seen moving gradually towards Thailand.
Up in Northeast India, scattered light rain and snow is expected over Arunachal Pradesh.
