Weather Forecast for February 29: Rain and Hailstorm in Vidarbha, South Madhya Pradesh

The cyclonic circulation over Southwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas persists. The trough can also be seen running from Southwest Madhya Pradesh up to Karnataka, across the cyclonic circulation.

Rain and thunderstorms will continue over northern parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Vidarbha and South Madhya Pradesh. Few pockets may receive good rainfall with squally winds blowing at a speed of 60 to 80km/h. Southwest Madhya Pradesh and North Vidarbha may witness isolated hailstorm.

Day temperatures were significantly above normal over these areas. The present spell of rain will bring down the temperatures by 2°C to 4°C.

Isolated rainfall activity is likely to continue over Chhattisgarh, North Telangana, North Andhra Pradesh and North Karnataka.

The cyclonic circulation over East Assam and adjoining areas will bring cloudy skies and some rain and thunderstorm in parts of Assam, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Meghalaya.

The trough running across Lakshadweep region will isolated rain and thunderstorm in parts of Coastal Kerala and South Tamil Nadu.

In North India, the temperatures will remain above normal levels. The dry spell in Jammu and Kashmir will come to an end by the first day of March as we can see a Western Disturbance approaching the Western Himalayas.

Delhiites will witness a warm day with maximums 4°C to 5°C above normal.
