Weather Forecast for Feb 28: Snow in Kashmir, Himachal; Rain in Punjab, Delhi

A Western Disturbance is seen over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. Because of this system, an induced cyclonic circulation has developed over Central Pakistan and adjoining Punjab.

Due to combined effect of these two systems, widespread rain and snow is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Also, Punjab and North Haryana may record some light rains. It can be expected that Delhi may see some isolated weather activity.

Meanwhile, the plains of North India are expected to witness rise in maximum temperatures.

Coming to central parts of the country, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh and Coastal Maharashtra including Mumbai may register a drop in day temperature, while rise in maximums are likely over parts of Odisha and adjoining Chhattisgarh.

Talking about East and Northeast India, few patches of clouds can be expected over North Bihar, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and higher reaches of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. Also, rise in day temperatures is likely over the region.

Down South, a trough is extending from South Konkan up to Kerala. Another trough of low extends close to equator up to South Tamil Nadu.

With this, light rain and thundershowers are likely over South Tamil Nadu and parts of Kerala. Andaman and Nicobar Islands will record scattered rains.
