Weather Forecast for Feb 25: Thundershowers likely in Kolkata, Ranchi, Patna and Jamshedpur, Delhi pollution to be poor

Beginning with East India, a Cyclonic Circulation is over Bihar and Jharkhand. A Trough is extending from North Interior Karnataka to West Bengal across Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh. The humid winds from the Bay of Bengal are increasing moisture, therefore fairly widespread rain and thundershowers are expected in Odisha, Jharkhand and West Bengal. Meanwhile, scattered rain is likely in Bihar while isolated showers are expected in East Uttar Pradesh. A few intense spells with chances of lightning strikes and hailstorm may occur in Gangetic West Bengal, parts of Jharkhand and Odisha. Kolkata, Ranchi, Patna and Jamshedpur may receive moderate thundershowers while scattered rains will continue in the northeastern states including Sikkim.

Talking about Central India, rains will continue in many parts of Chhattisgarh and in one or two pockets of East Madhya Pradesh. Northerly winds will keep the minimums of Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh in the comfortable range. The weather will remain dry in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and most parts of Madhya Pradesh. Mumbai will be dry and sunny.

Coming onto North India, northwesterly dry winds will continue in the northern plains of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. The weather will remain dry in northern plains as well as in most parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, scattered rains are likely in Uttarakhand. Delhi pollution will be in ‘moderate to poor’ category.

Lastly in South India, due to the formation of a Confluence Zone over North Andhra Pradesh, scattered rains are likely in North Coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, whereas the weather of Telangana, Rayalaseema, Karnataka ,Tamil Nadu and Kerala will be dry. The cities of Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai will be dry.
