Weather Forecast for Feb 21: Rain ahead for Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh

Beginning with North India where a Western Disturbance is over eastern parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Its induced Cyclonic Circulation is over Haryana and adjoining areas. Also, a Trough from system is extending up to Bihar. We expect isolated rain and snow to continue over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Rain and thundershowers will continue over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and many parts of West Uttar Pradesh until the afternoon of February 21. Thereafter, the weather will start clearing up.

Talking about East and Northeast India where light rains are expected over East Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and parts of Bihar. Weather of Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal will remain dry. Rains will now decrease over Northeast India as well. However, light rainfall will be seen over East Assam and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal. Some snowfall activity might be seen in one or two pockets of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.

Coming on to Central India, where humid winds from Arabian Sea as well as Bay of Bengal are feeding moisture over the region. We expect light rains at one or two places over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and North Chhattisgarh. Minimum temperatures may increase over most places. Meanwhile, the weather of Maharashtra, South Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat will remain dry.

Lastly in South India, where a lower level Trough is seen over South Tamil Nadu. We expect scattered rains over South Interior Tamil Nadu and in one or two pockets of North Coastal Tamil Nadu including Chennai. Weather of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala is expected to remain dry.
