Weather Forecast for Feb 2: Morning to get colder over the hills of North India, while Odisha to see light rain

Up in the north cold morning with sunny sky conditions will prevail in the hills. Dense fog is expected in Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakhand and at a few places in Punjab, Haryana and Northwest Uttar Pradesh.
A marginal drop in the minimums may occur in entire Northwest India. The pollution level of Delhi and NCR will improve but it will remain in the ‘moderate’ to ‘satisfactory’ category.

Coming to east india cool weather will prevail with mainly sunny sky conditions in East India. A marginal drop in the night temperature can also be seen. We expect light rain and thundershower activities with gusty winds in parts of Odisha and its adjoining interior parts.

A Cyclonic Circulation lies over Meghalaya and adjoining Northeast Bangladesh. In the wake of this system, rain and thundershower are likely at scattered places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and at isolated places in Meghalaya and Nagaland.However, the higher reaches of Arunachal Pradesh may receive light snowfall. Moderate to dense fog will prevail in Northeast India during morning hours.

Moving towards central india a Cyclonic Circulation lies over the Northeast Arabian Sea. Also, south-westerlies are prevailing in many parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Due to all these systems, rain and thundershowers are expected at scattered places in Vidarbha, Marathwada, extreme south of Madhya Pradesh and South Chhattisgarh. The minimums and maximums are expected to rise. While South Gujarat, rest of the parts of Maharashtra and adjoining Southwest Madhya Pradesh may observe partly cloudy skies.

Down South Light weather activity is likely in Telangana and Kerala. Some places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh may observe rain and thundershower activities. While light rain is likely in Telangana and Kerala. Isolated pockets of South Tamil Nadu may also see light rain and thundershowers. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain above normal in the Southern peninsula.
