Weather Forecast for Feb 1: Rain likely in Odisha, Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand. Night to get colder in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh

Up in the north the remnants of the Western Disturbance may give isolated light rain in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttrakhand. Meanwhile, the weather in the northern plains will remain almost dry. However, cold north westerlies will continue to blow in the plains following which the maximum and the minimum temperatures of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and North Rajasthan will remain below normal.Also, moderate to dense fog is expected in parts of Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh.

Coming to east india a trough is extending from the foothills of Bihar up to Arunachal Pradesh across Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Assam. In the wake of this system, scattered light to moderate rains are expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland. There are also chances of snowfall in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. While Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will get isolated light rains.Light rain is expected in coastal Odisha. The weather of East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal will be almost dry.

Moving to central india the night temperatures of Rajasthan, Gujarat and West Madhya Pradesh may drop further. However, the weather of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra will remain almost dry.

Down south now warm south easterlies are blowing in Tamil Nadu, Arunachal Pradesh and Telangana. Due to these winds, the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to rise in these states. The weather of the entire southern peninsula will remain dry, warm and sunny.
