The Western Disturbance affecting Jammu and Kashmir has moved away from the region. With this, clear weather conditions will now prevail over hilly states of North India on Saturday.

Also under its influence, cold and dry northerly winds will blow over entire northwestern plains leading to drop in temperatures across the region.

Cold wave conditions will return over parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and some parts of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.

Scattered light rain is expected to continue over Chhattisgarh and Odisha on account of conversion of dry and cold northwesterly winds with warm and moist winds from Bay of Bengal.

Up in the Northeast region, cyclonic circulation over Assam continues to persist and will bring isolated light rain over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.

Moving down to Peninsular India, Northeast Monsoon continues to be subdued over the region but scattered light to moderate rain may occur over Kerala and South Tamil Nadu on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the cyclonic circulation over Lakshadweep region and adjoining Arabian Sea has moved away in west direction, leading to significant drop in rainfall over Lakshadweep Islands.
