December 17, 2015 7:15 PM |

The Western Disturbance affecting hilly region is now marked over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining areas and is moving in east direction. This will bring isolated rain and snow over the higher reaches of the state on Friday.

Also under its influence, northwesterly winds will again blow over northwestern plains such as Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat. This will lead to further drop in minimum temperatures across the region.

Moving onto the central parts of the country, scattered light rain is expected over Chhattisgarh and Odisha due to the conversion of dry and cold winds from northern region with warm and moist winds from Bay of Bengal. Isolated light rain may also occur over North Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Up in the Northeast region, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Assam which will bring scattered light rain over northeastern states on Friday.

Moving down to Peninsular India, Northeast Monsoon continues to be weak over the region but scattered light rain may take place over Kerala and South Tamil Nadu on Friday.

Meanwhile, the cyclonic circulation over Lakshadweep region and adjoining Arabian Sea is still prevailing, which will bring fairly widespread rain and thundershowers over Lakshadweep Islands.
