Weather Forecast for December 15: Cold wave conditions in North India while Fog in East

Peak of winter finally seems to be here. Cold wave conditions are being witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, parts of Punjab and Rajasthan. In Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana, minimums will be 5 to 6 degrees below normal in the range of 3 to 5 degree Celsius. Cold wave conditions will be witnessed in few places. Night temperatures in Delhi will settle around 6 degrees. On Monday morning, Churu recorded subzero temperatures for the first this season. Day temperatures will remain near normal levels.

In absence of any active Western Disturbance, below normal temperatures are likely to persist over entire North India at least for next 48 hours. Sky will remain cloudy over extreme northern hills.

On Tuesday morning we could expect dense fog in East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Northeast India. Road, rail and air traffic could be slightly affected. Otherwise, entire North, East and Central India will remain dry.

There is a cyclonic circulation seen over Northeast India. This could bring some light rainfall activity over Assam, Meghalaya and adjoining areas.

A trough can be seen running from Jharkhand to North Interior Karnataka, across Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Isolated light rainfall likely along the trough.

This feeble cyclonic circulation could bring some rainfall over Kerala and Coastal Karnataka. Rest of Peninsular India including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana will remain mainly dry.
