The Western Disturbance continues to prevail over Jammu and Kashmir but being feeble in nature, it will give only isolated rain and snow over the higher reaches of the state.

The system has also changed the wind pattern to warm and humid easterlies over the northwestern plains. In wake of this, minimums have increased significantly over the region and we expect it to marginally during the next 24 hours.

With this, fog will also make a comeback over the plains, that may witness moderate to dense fog over several places including Delhi NCR.

Now, a cyclonic circulation is also seen over Bihar and adjoining areas, which is followed by another circulation over South Bangladesh and adjoining Bay of Bengal.

Both the systems will continue to infuse moisture over the region and as a result, fog will further tighten its grip and moderate to very dense fog may occur over East and Northeast India.

Due to persistent fog cover, day maximums are likely to drop significantly over parts of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.

Moving into central parts of the country, cool winds from north are reaching up to the region that may lead to marginal drop in night temperatures across Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

Down south, the trough of low continues to persist in Southeast Bay of Bengal. With this, rains will continue over South Tamil Nadu coast and adjoining Kerala in Thursday but with reduced intensity.

Rest parts of South India will remain mainly dry.
