Weather Forecast for Dec 2: Cyclone Nada to give more rain in Chennai, Bangalore, Fog in Delhi NCR

After sustaining strength for brief period, Cyclone Nada in southwest Bay of Bengal has weakened into a deep depression. The system will continue to move in west-northwest direction towards and will also weaken gradually as it move towards the coast.

According to Skymet Weather, the system is likely to cross the Indian coast as a depression only.

Though it may weaken, but the system will continue to give fairly widespread moderate to heavy rain and thundershowers over Chennai and rest coastal parts of Tamil Nadu. Isolated places may record very heavy showers as well. Nada will also give light to moderate rains over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Interior Tamil Nadu, Kerala and parts of Karnataka including Bangalore.

Moist and cool winds blowing from this region will be reaching up to Maharashtra, leading to marginal drop in day maximums, while minimums will increase.

Meanwhile in North India, moderate to dense fog will continue to grip plains of North and East India including Delhi NCR but with reduced intensity. As a result, day maximums are likely to drop marginally, while minimum temperatures may rise over the region by 2-3 degrees.

Up in Northeast India, the cyclonic circulation continues to prevail over Northeast India. With this, isolated rain will continue over the region with shallow fog and mist.
