Weather Forecast for Dec 18: Delhi Pollution to improve; fog in Punjab, Haryana

Beginning with North India, a Western Disturbance as an upper air system is seen over Jammu and Kashmir is seen over North Jammu and Kashmir and is moving east-northeastwards.

With this, partly cloudy sky conditions are expected over East Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining North Himachal Pradesh. However, a fresh Western Disturbance is expected to affect the hills of North India around December 19.

Dry and cold northwesterly winds are affecting Northwest India due to which winter will continue to grip the region. Cold breeze will blow during the day. Day temperatures are expected to rise marginally while minimums may witness a slight fall.

Shallow to moderate fog is possible over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, Delhi Pollution will drift away due to moderate winds over the region.

Coming to East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Northeastern region but it will not have any effect in terms of weather. Significant fall in temperatures is expected over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and parts of Odisha. Fog may also occur in some parts.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Coming to Central India, dry and cool northwesterly winds will cause a drop in temperatures over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, North Maharashtra and Vidarbha.

Coming to South India, due to moist winds over the region, isolated light rain may occur over southern parts of Tamil Nadu. Rest of the region will remain dry. Meanwhile, an upper air trough is over South Bay of Bengal and is shifting westwards. However, this will only affect the weather over Tamil Nadu around 19th evening.
