Weather Forecast for Dec 14: Rain, snow in Kashmir, Himachal, Dense fog in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan

A Western Disturbance can be seen over Jammu and Kashmir. Thus, scattered light rain and snow over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir, while isolated rain and snow over Himachal Pradesh is anticipated.

Its induced cyclonic circulation is over Punjab and adjoining area. Also, cold northwesterly winds are prevailing over the northwestern plains. Hence, minimum temperatures will drop by one or two degrees over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and Northwest Uttar Pradesh. Moderate to dense fog is likely over parts of Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. The national capital may witness shallow to moderate fog.

Talking about Delhi pollution, it will remain in the ‘poor’ category and no instant rise in the pollution levels is expected.

Coming to Central India, an anti-cyclone is seen over South Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. Thus, sky conditions will remain clear over Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh. Temperatures are likely to drop marginally over the entire region.

Talking about East and Northeast India, dry weather will continue over both the regions. Temperatures are likely to drop marginally over eastern states in the wake of cool winds form northwest direction. Shallow to moderate fog can be seen over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.

Lastly South India, a trough is seen over Kerala; therefore we can expect scattered light to moderate rains over South Interior Karnataka, Kerala and Interior Tamil Nadu. The weather of North Tamil Nadu including Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and North Karnataka will remain dry.
