Weather Forecast for August 5: Heavy rain in Bihar, East UP, Jharkhand, West Bengal

A cyclonic circulation lies over West Bengal and adjoining parts. The axis of Monsoon is passing through East India. Another trough lies over the northeastern states. Therefore, moderate rains will continue over Bihar, East Uttar Pradesh and rains will intensify over Jharkhand and West Bengal.

Parts of Chhattisgarh and Odisha will also receive moderate to heavy rains. Rainfall will reduce in parts of Northeast India.

Due to the cyclonic circulation over Central Pakistan, Uttarakhand will continue to receive good rains, while isolated light rains will occur in South Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, parts of Punjab, Haryana and Northwest Uttar Pradesh.

In central India, light rain is possible over few parts of East and South Gujarat. Due to the feeble trough along the West Coast, scattered light rains with few moderate spells are likely along the Maharashtra Coast. Scattered light rain is expected in East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh.

Light rains will also continue over Kerala and Karnataka Coast along with few parts of Tamil Nadu, North Andhra Prdaesh and North Telangana.
