Weather Forecast for August 29: Rain in Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Chennai

August 28, 2018 4:20 PM |

Beginning with North India, two cyclonic circulations are prevalent over the region, one over North Pakistan and the other over West Uttar Pradesh. Therefore, we can expect heavy rains over west and central Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow, whereas light to moderate with isolated heavy showers may occur over parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. Meantime, isolated weather events over Jammu & Kashmir and North Rajasthan also cannot be ruled out.

Further in Central region, moderate to heavy showers are likely over many parts of north and east Madhya Pradesh, North Chhattisgarh and Southeast Rajasthan on account of Monsoon trough running closely through these areas. At this point, we presume rain intensity to drop over Gujarat, South Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha, none the less scattered rains will still continue. During the next 24 hours, Konkan & Goa including Mumbai, Coastal Karnataka and North Kerala would see light to moderate rainfall.

Moreover, the feeble trough along Coastal Tamil Nadu would give scattered rain over the state including Chennai. Meantime, scattered light rain over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and interior Karnataka cannot be ruled out.

At last in East & Northeast India, the low pressure over Jharkhand and adjoining area would give light to moderate with isolated heavy spells over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. Simultaneously scattered showers would occur over East Uttar Pradesh. Northeastern states, particularly Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland will get moderate to heavy showers.
