Weather Forecast for August 23: Rain in Himachal, Uttarakhand, UP, Bihar

Starting with North India, the western end of the axis of Monsoon trough is running along the Indo-Gangetic Plains. As a result, good rain will continue over Himachal Pradesh, East Punjab and Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh along with isolated heavy spells over Uttarakhand. Jammu &Kashmir, Delhi and Northeast Rajasthan could see isolated spells.

Talking about East & Northeast, the eastern end of the axis of Monsoon trough is passing via Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal, therefore the intensity of rainfall would increase over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal. In fact, we anticipate Jharkhand to see few spells of moderate rain.

Similarly, the rain intensity will increase over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur. Light showers are likely in Odisha during the next 24 hours.

Moving onto Center of India, rain will reduce significantly over South Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Marathwada, however few moderate spells may occur over North Madhya Pradesh and Konkan & Goa including Mumbai.

Moreover, we expect light to moderate rain to continue over Coastal Karnataka, while rainfall will remain subdued over rest of Southern Peninsula inclusive of Kerala.
