Weather Forecast for August 19: Relief in sight for Kerala floods, Rain in Coastal Karnataka, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal

Beginning with North India, the cyclonic circulation over Jammu & Kashmir would cause light to moderate rainfall in the state along with Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Heavy rain is also possible in isolated pockets of Uttarakhand and North Punjab.

In plains, thundershowers are possible in parts of Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan.

Moving onto East India, the cyclonic circulation over North Bay of Bengal has intensified into a low pressure, and so we expect the intensity of rainfall to once again increase over East India. With this, Orissa, Jharkhand, and West Bengal may have light to moderate rainfall. Whereas light rain is likely in Bihar, and East Uttar Pradesh. However, Rain will remain light in the Northeast.

Talking about Central India, East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha may see light to moderate rainfall. Heavy rains in West Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat will now also reduce significantly. However, light rains may continue in pockets.

Meanwhile in Maharashtra, light rain will continue in Konkan & Goa and Mumbai while the weather in Marathwada will be almost dry.

Good news is in offing in south India as The intensity of rains will decrease in Kerala now; consequently the flood situation is likely to improve gradually. However, moderate to heavy rains will continue in Coastal Karnataka. Rainfall in Coastal Andhra Pradesh will remain light to moderate.
