Weather Forecast for August 11: Kerala Floods to remain grim, rain in Konkan, Vidarbha, Coastal Karnataka

Kerala rains which had been wreaking havoc over the region may see some respite as the cyclonic circulation which was persisting over Lakshadweep region is moving away westwards. However, moderate showers will continue due to which flood situation in Kerala will remain grim.

Scattered rains will continue over Coastal Karnataka. Also, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana will see rains as a trough is extending along the East Coast.

Up North, the axis of Monsoon trough is shifting towards the North which is why rains will once again increase over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand which may cause flashfloods, landslides. Chances of cloudbursts are also likely. Scattered rains are possible over North Punjab, parts of Haryana, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh.

Moving to Central India, rains will reduce over some parts of Madhya Pradesh, however, North and East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha may see scattered light to moderate rains. Mumbai rains will remain light whereas rest of Konkan and Goa may see some moderate showers. Madhya Maharashtra may see light showers with isolated rains likely over Gujarat.

Moving to East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Jharkhand and adjoining Bihar will increase rains over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. Good rains are also possible over Sub Himalayan, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.
