Weather Forecast for Aug 7: Heavy Monsoon rains in HP, Uttarakhand MP, rain in Delhi, Mumbai

The low pressure area over Saurashtra and Kutch region of Gujarat and South Pakistan has weakened into a cyclonic circulation. Besides this, the axis of Monsoon trough is also running through South Rajasthan up to the low pressure area over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and North Odisha. With all these systems interacting with each other, good Monsoon rains will continue over South and East Rajasthan, many parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and Odisha, while heavy to very heavy rains are likely over Central and North Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.

A fresh Western Disturbance is also moving across Jammu and Kashmir, which will bring light to moderate rains over the state, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, and West Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, Moderate to heavy showers are expected over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand. With this, threat of flash floods, cloud burst and landslide looms large over the region.

The off-shore trough is also extending from South Gujarat up to Konkan & Goa and is likely to give mainly moderate rains over Konkan & Goa including Mumbai, South Coastal Gujarat, Coastal Karnataka and North Kerala on Sunday. Interiors of Peninsular India will continue with the subdued rainfall only.

We can see another cyclonic circulation over Assam and Meghalaya region and with this, light to moderate showers with isolated heavy rains will continue over the region.
