Weather Forecast for Aug 6: Monsoon rains in Gujarat, MP, Chhattisgarh, Konkan & Goa

The cyclonic circulation over Northwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas will continue to persist, bringing heavy to very heavy rains over North and Central Madhya Pradesh, parts of South Rajasthan and Gujarat.

The low pressure area which was earlier prevailing over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand will now move to Chhattisgarh and adjoining Jharkhand. The axis of Monsoon trough will now pass through Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Odisha. Due to this, moderate to heavy showers are likely to lash parts of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

The off-shore trough running from South Gujarat up to Coastal Karnataka will remain active. With this, moderate to heavy showers will continue over South Gujarat, Konkan & Goa and Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Meanwhile, Interiors of Peninsular India including interior parts of Karnataka, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu will continue to receive subdued rainfall.

A fresh cyclonic circulation has now developed over Northeastern states. This will increase rain activities over the entire Northeastern states.

The Western disturbance is now seen over Pakistan and adjoining Jammu & Kashmir. Therefore, we expect scattered moderate showers over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand. Delhi will also witness some light showers.
