Weather Forecast for Aug 5: Rain in Nagpur, Mumbai, Kolkata, Punjab, UP, Delhi

A Western Disturbance is seen over Central parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this, moderate to heavy rains may continue to occur over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Scattered light rains are also possible over Jammu and Kashmir.

The western end of axis of Monsoon trough is seen running close to the foothills of Himalayas. With this, good Monsoon rains are expected to occur over foothills of Punjab and West Uttar Pradesh. Whereas, isolated rains are also likely over parts of Haryana and Delhi.

Weather of remaining parts of Punjab, Haryana and most parts of Rajasthan will remain dry.

In East and Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Jharkhand and adjoining areas. The eastern end of axis of Monsoon trough is also passing through Gangetic West Bengal.

With this, light to moderate rains along with few heavy spells are likely over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. The intensity of rainfall over Northeast India will reduce now.

In Central India, due to the influence of this cyclonic circulation, many parts of Chhattisgarh and some parts of east Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha may receive light to moderate rains.

The weather of Gujarat and West Madhya Pradesh will continue to remain almost dry, though light rains at one or two places cannot be ruled out over these regions.

Down South, moderate to heavy rains will continue to occur over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Scattered light to moderate rains are possible over Konkan & Goa including Mumbai, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and parts of Telangana and Interior Karnataka.

The weather of Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu will remain almost dry.
