Weather Forecast for Aug 31: Monsoon rains to increase in Delhi and North India

Monsoon showers are likely to increase in Delhi and NCR. Tomorrow, the other three major cities of Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai will also receive scattered rains.

Firstly there is a cyclonic circulation lying over Punjab and adjoining Haryana region. While the Western Disturbance is moving across North Pakistan region.

The axis of the Monsoon trough is running via Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and further towards Northeast India. We expect light to moderate rainfall at many places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, most parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Northeast India.

We can also see a trough extending from the cyclonic circulation over here to South Gujarat. Thus, scattered light to moderate rains are likely over East Rajasthan and few parts of Gujarat.

Another cyclonic circulation will be seen over South Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas. This weather system will bring good rains continue over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, South Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Coming down, the circulation over South Tamil Nadu and adjoining areas will bring scattered rainfall over coastal areas of Tamil Nadu including Chennai. Some rains likely in Rayalaseema and South interior Karnataka.

The off shore trough along the West Coast is feeble it will bring moderate rains all along Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa. Rains will now increase over Kerala.
