Weather Forecast for Aug 21: Heavy Monsoon rains in Rajasthan, MP, Kolkata, Rain in Mumbai

The depression over Central India has now weakened into a well-marked low pressure area and is now marked over East Rajasthan and adjoining Madhya Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the fresh cyclonic circulation in Northeast Bay of Bengal has also intensified into a low pressure area and is now over North Bay of Bengal.

Now the Monsoon trough is running across North Rajasthan, center of this system, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and further up to the low pressure area. With this, heavy to very heavy rains will continue over West Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan and adjoining Northeast Gujarat on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Northwest India including Delhi will witness mainly dry weather conditions.

Rains will also increase over parts of East India, wherein heavy showers are likely over Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata and North Coastal Odisha. Scattered light showers may also occur over Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Up in Northeast India, mainly moderate showers will occur over Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur and Tripura. While, scattered showers will continue over other parts of the region.

Moving down south, the feeble off-shore trough along the West Coast will continue to bring light to moderate rains over Konkan and Goa including Mumbai, Coastal Karnataka, and North Kerala. Meanwhile, interiors of Peninsular India will continue with subdued Monsoon rains but isolated light rains cannot be ruled out.
