Weather Forecast for Aug 20: Rains in Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh

Up North, a Western Disturbance is seen over North Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this, Jammu and Kashmir may see light rains whereas, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may settle with light to moderate rains. While East Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Northwest Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan is likely to witness light Monsoon showers. However, a few parts of Southeast Rajasthan are expected to receive moderate rains.

Due to no significant weather system prevailing over East India, the rainfall activities in most parts are expected to reduce and the temperatures will also see a significant increase. Although, light rains cannot be ruled out over the region. Talking about Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is also seen lying over West Assam. Due to this weather system, many parts of northeastern states will continue to see light to moderate rains.

Coming to Central India, the low pressure area which was seen over Odisha is now likely to weaken further and move towards the West direction and is soon likely to reach South Madhya Pradesh and its adjoining areas of Maharashtra. The axis of Monsoon trough is also seen passing through Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha then towards Bay of Bengal.

Due to these weather systems, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Marathwada and Konkan region may witness good Monsoon rains. Whereas, a few parts of Gujarat may see light to moderate rains.

While Chhattisgarh and Odisha will see a decrease in the rainfall activity but there will be a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in the southern parts of these states.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Down South, good Monsoon rains are expected to continue over Kerala and Coastal Karnataka. Whereas, remaining parts of Karnataka, North Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh may witness light rains. However, a few parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and North Telangana may see light to moderate rains.
