August 17, 2016 5:57 PM |

Monsoon conditions are active over East and Central India due to the continuous weather systems developing in the Bay of Bengal.

The deep depression over West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand and Odisha will bring heavy to very heavy rainfall over East Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh; Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata will follow the similar suite.

The axis of Monsoon trough is now running along the foothills of Himalayas via Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. The cyclonic circulation over East Uttar Pradesh along with the axis of Monsoon trough will give good showers at many places over West Uttar Pradesh and North Madhya Pradesh.

Light to moderate rains cannot be ruled out over few parts of Uttarakhand. Meanwhile, Delhi and parts of Haryana could receive light patchy rains.

Coming to western parts of the country including Gujarat and Rajasthan, the weather will remain dry.

Down south, in view of the feeble off-shore trough, light to moderate rains are likely along the West Coast including Konkan and Goa and Coastal Karnataka. Meanwhile, rains over Kerala will remain light in nature. Monsoon will remain subdued over interior peninsular India.
