Weather Forecast for Aug 17: Rain in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Goa, West Bengal; Delhi, Punjab to remain dry

In North India a Western Disturbance is persisting is over North Jammu and Kashmir and the axis of Monsoon trough is now gradually shifting towards south therefore we expect rains to reduce further over the hills of Jammu Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. However, light rain at one or two places may continue. Weather across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan will remain dry but isolated rains due to local development are possible.

Talking about East India, a Cyclonic Circulation has developed over Odisha and adjoining areas. Due to this weather system we expect scattered light to moderate rains over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and many parts of West Bengal and Odisha may receive one or two heavy spells of rain. Talking about the northeastern states Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh will also receive light to moderate spells of rain. Remaining northeastern states will witness light rains.

In Central India, Monsoon rains over Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh will once again increase. Vidarbha region may also receive light to moderate showers at few places. However, West Madhya Pradesh, South Rajasthan and Gujarat will witness dry weather conditions with isolated light rains.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Down South, a trough is seen extending along the east coast from Odisha to Tamil Nadu. Due to this weather system, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will receive rain or thundershower at few places. Scattered rains will continue over Interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and light to moderate rains are also expected over the entire West Coast from including Konkan and Goa, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala.
