Weather Forecast for Aug 14: Rain in UP, Bihar, Assam, West Bengal

To start with North India, the Western Disturbance is seen moving away but scattered rains will continue over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Northern parts of Punjab may also record scattered rains.

The axis of Monsoon trough continues to run along the foothills of Himalayas. So, the foothills of West Uttar Pradesh will witness light to moderate rains, while the weather over rest of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, remaining parts of West Uttar Pradesh and North Rajasthan are expected to remain dry.

Moving to East & Northeast side, a cyclonic circulation is over East Bihar embedded on the axis of Monsoon trough. Due to this, light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells will continue over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya. Whereas scattered light to moderate rains are possible over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha and remaining northeastern states.

Coming to Central region, parts of East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha may observe light to moderate showers, while light rains may show up over Gujarat, Southeast Rajasthan and adjoining West Madhya Pradesh.

Down South, a trough is extending all along the East Coast. With this, light to moderate rains may continue over Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Telangana and Rayalaseema will receive scattered light showers.

Meanwhile, Konkan and Goa may record light to moderate rains, but rains will remain subdued over Kerala, Karnataka and Interior Maharashtra.
