Weather Forecast for Aug 13: Rain in Mumbai, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh; Flood situation to worsen over Assam

A fresh Western Disturbance is seen over Jammu and Kashmir. The axis of Monsoon trough is also seen extending along the Foothills of Himalayas. Due to this, light rains will occur over Jammu and Kashmir, while Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may record light to moderate rains.

The weather over Delhi, most parts of Haryana and North Rajasthan is expected to remain dry. Punjab may receive light rains. Whereas, West Uttar Pradesh may receive light to moderate rains.

Coming to East & Northeast India, a cyclonic circulation is seen over northern parts of East Uttar Pradesh and a trough is seen extending from this system up to East Assam. Due to which, moderate to heavy rains with extremely heavy at few places are possible over foothills of Uttar Pradesh, many parts of Bihar, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and West Assam. The Flood situation over Assam is also likely to worsen even further.

However, light to moderate rains along with heavy at one or two places are possible over remaining parts of northeastern states, West Bengal and parts of Jharkhand. Whereas, scattered light rains may occur over Odisha.

Coming to Central India, almost dry weather conditions are expected though isolated light showers cannot be ruled out over West and South Rajasthan as well as West Madhya Pradesh. Another cyclonic circulation is seen over Gujarat. With this, light to moderate rains are possible over Gujarat region. Scattered light showers are expected over Chhattisgarh and East Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, Vidarbha and Marathwada may settle with light rains.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Down South, light to moderate rains may occur over Konkan & Goa region including Mumbai, adjoining areas of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Interior Karnataka and Interior Tamil Nadu. Moreover, Telangana and Madhya Maharashtra may also record isolated light showers.
