Weather Forecast for Aug 11: Rain in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Kolkata; floods in UP, Bihar, Assam

Beginning with North India, a Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir and a cyclonic circulation is seen over Central Pakistan.

With this, scattered light rains will occur over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and North Punjab while moderate to heavy rains may lash Uttarakhand and adjoining Northwest Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the weather over Haryana and North Rajasthan will remain dry but light rains at one or two places cannot be ruled out.

Moving to East & Northeast side, the axis of Monsoon trough passes close to the foothills of Himalayas and so we expect heavy to very heavy rains over East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. These heavy spells may trigger flood like situation over Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Assam.

Meanwhile, Gangetic West Bengal and rest of northeastern states will receive light to moderate rains. Odisha may record scattered rains.

Coming to Central region, a trough is extending from East Madhya Pradesh up to Tamil Nadu. Due to this, light to moderate rains will occur over eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh. Scattered rains will continue over West Madhya Pradesh, Southeast Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Down South, Light to moderate rains is also expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana and Interior Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, Konkan and Goa may record scattered rains, but the rain intensity will be more over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Live status of Lightning and thunder

Talking about major cities of India, Lucknow, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad may witness some good rainy spells. While, Mumbai and Delhi will see just light rains.
