The deep depression over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Bangladesh is likely to weaken into a depression and move in northwest direction.

With this, widespread heavy to very heavy rains with isolated extremely heavy showers will occur over North Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal including Kolkata, Jharkhand and South Bihar.

Meanwhile, the low pressure area over East Rajasthan has now shifted to North Rajasthan. Moreover, the axis of monsoon trough is also passing through centre of this low pressure area, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, centre of depression and further up to east-central Bay of Bengal.

With this, we can expect moderate to heavy rains to continue over many places of North and East Rajasthan and Southwest Uttar Pradesh.

A fresh Western disturbance is also moving across Jammu & Kashmir. Under its influence, light to moderate showers may occur over hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Few parts of Uttarakhand can receive isolated heavy showers.

Also, Northern plains of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi may see scattered light to moderate rains on Thursday.

Down south, the feeble off-shore trough continues to run along the West Coast, bringing light to moderate showers over Konkan and Goa including Mumbai, and Coastal Karnataka. Mainly dry weather will prevail over interiors of Peninsular India, however light showers cannot be ruled out.
