2016 is turning out to be the hottest year globally and a similar trend is seen in India as well. After Central and South India it’s now time for Delhi and NCR to witness heatwave conditions.
The Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir will continue to bring rainfall over Jammu and Kashmir. Scattered rains likely in Himachal Pradesh while Uttarakhand will receive only isolated rains. It will move away and become insignificant by Wednesday.
The induced cyclonic circulation over Punjab will bring some thundery activity along the foothills of Punjab and Haryana. One or two odd spells of rainfall cannot be ruled out. Even North Rajasthan and Delhi-NCR stand a chance of witnessing such weather activity. Tomorrow, temperatures will continue to be on the higher side in this part of the country as such activities will occur only during the latter part of the day.
Warm southeasterly winds coming from Central India will now be replace by northwesterly winds. Accordingly, we can except some relief from scorching heat in northern plains including Delhi-NCR.
Northeast India will continue to witness rainy weather in view of the well marked Cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh and Gangetic West Bengal. Expect good showers in Southeast Assam, Tripura, Mizoram and Meghalaya.
A trough is extending from this system across Odisha to North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Isolated thunderstorm likely along the trough line.
Another trough can be seen extending from Madhya Pradesh up to Kerala across Maharashtra and Karnataka. Isolated light rain likely along this trough line.
Heatwave conditions will be prominent across Delhi, Rajasthan, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Any kind of rainfall activity will be observed only during late afternoon or evening hours. Therefore, not much relief likely during the day time.
