Weather Forecast for April 30: Rain likely in Maharashtra and Odisha, no respite from heatwave

Hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will continue with clear weather on Saturday as well. A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to start affecting by May 2.

While, plains of Northwest India including Delhi will see marginal rise in temperatures on account of bright sunshine. Day temperatures across the region including Delhi are likely to settle above 40°C.

However, Rajasthan will see some significant increase in the temperatures.

Moving on to Northeast India, the cyclonic circulation is now over Bangladesh and adjoining Meghalaya and West Bengal. With this, scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers will continue over the entire region.

A trough also continues to extend from this system up to Telangana across West Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. Accordingly we can expect isolated light rain over Odisha, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.

Down south, wind discontinuity can be seen from Vidarbha to Comorin region across Marathwada, Karnataka, and Kerala.

This may bring isolated light rain over Vidarbha, Marathwada, Karnataka, Kerala and extreme south Tamil Nadu on Saturday.

All these rain activities will bring slight relief but will have much impact over temperature profile and they will continue to hover above 42°C.

East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Telangana and Vidarbha and Marathwada regions of Maharashtra will continue to reel under heatwave conditions on Saturday.

We can expect significant relief only with the commencement of May wherein pre-Monsoon showers will pick up the pace.
