Weather Forecast for April 24: Mercury to rise in North India, heatwave in Odisha, Maharashtra

The Western Disturbance has moved away from Jammu and Kashmir region and with this, both Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh will witness clear weather but isolated light activity will continue on Sunday. While, Northwestern Plains will have mainly dry weather with clear sky on Sunday, leading to rise in both maximum and minimum temperature once again.

Moving to Northeast region, the cyclonic circulation is now marked over East Assam. A trough is also extending from this system up North Bay of Bengal. With this, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya will continue with moderate to rain and thundershowers. Meanwhile rest of northeastern states will have light to moderate rain.

Moving down south, the trough is now extending from Telangana up to Comorin area across Rayalaseema and Interior Tamil Nadu. This will give isolated light rain over Kerala and adjoining parts of Tamil Nadu. We can also expect isolated thunderstorm along the trough line.

Meanwhile, intense heatwave continues to sweep several parts the country. Severe heatwave will continue over Odisha and Maharashtra. While Rayalaseema, South Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh will reel under heatwave.
