Weather Forecast for April 23: Heavy rain in Northeast India, severe heatwave in Odisha, Maharashtra

The affecting Western Disturbance is marked over Jammu and Kashmir and is likely to clear away the region in next 24 hours.

With this, the rainfall activity will reduce significantly over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh but isolated light activity will continue.

Meanwhile, plains of North India will have mainly dry weather with clear sky on Saturday. In wake of this, both maximum and minimum temperature will start rising again Sunday onwards.

Moving to Northeast region, the cyclonic circulation over Assam and Meghalaya continues to persist. With this, entire Northeastern states including Sikkim and Sub Himalayan West Bengal will also continue to witness light to moderate rain and thundershowers with isolated heavy spells on Saturday.

The feeble trough is still seen running from Gangetic West Bengal up to North Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Odisha. Though this trough will not give any significant weather but isolated activity cannot be ruled out.

Moving down south, the trough is extending North Interior Karnataka up to Comorin area across interiors of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

With this, isolated light rain and thundershowers are likely over Kerala, Interior Tamil Nadu and South Interior Karnataka. Even Bengaluru could also see isolated thunderstorm on Saturday.

Meanwhile, intense heatwave has tightened its grip over the country. Severe heatwave will continue over Odisha and Maharashtra. While Rayalaseema, Telangana, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh will reel under heatwave.
