Beginning with North India, a Western Disturbance is seen over western Himalayas. Due to this, rain and thundershower activities are expected over Jammu and Kashmir and parts of Himachal Pradesh. With this heatwave condition will abate from these areas.
With this, Uttarakhand may also receive light rain at one or two places.
However, heatwave will continue to grip parts of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi. No relief is in offing for the next few days.
Similarly, heatwave also continuous to engulf Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, with day temperatures settling above 44 degrees
Moving into east and northeast region, a cyclonic circulation is seen over east Bihar. A trough is extending from this system up to coastal Andhra Pradesh across Odisha.
Due to this, rains are expected to continue in parts of East Bihar, Sub- Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya. Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha may also receive rain and thundershower activities in the next 24 hours.
Down south, due to a trough extending from Bihar to coastal Odisha, light rain and thundershower activities are expected over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and South Interior Karnataka including Bangalore. However, Chennai and the rest of south peninsula will remain hot and dry.
