Beginning with North India, heatwave conditions continue to prevail over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Coming to central & north India, Severe heatwave conditions are expected to continue over the parts of West Rajasthan. Temperatures over many places of Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and Interior Karnataka will remain above the 40°C mark. Dry and hot winds will continue to blow over the region.
Moving into east and northeast region, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Bihar and adjoining area. A trough is extending from this system up to Andhra Pradesh across West Bengal and Odisha.
Due to this, rains are expected to continue in the parts of northeastern states, Sub- Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
Scattered rains are expected over eastern parts of Bihar and coastal Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.
Down south, Kerala may record isolated rain at few places while rest of South India will continue with hot and dry weather.
