Weather Forecast for April 12: Heatwave in East and Central India, relatively pleasant in Delhi

April 11, 2016 5:50 PM |

Heatwave has been spreading its grip over East and Central India. So much so that government schools have been shut from Monday onwards and office hours have been reduced.

Western Disturbance is moving away, bringing clear weather conditions in the Northern hills. This region had been receiving rain and snow for almost a week. As of now, we can expect windy days in the plains. Delhi and adjoining states will witness near normal day temperatures. After about 3 days, we will see a rising trend in temperatures.

Northeast India will be the only region to receive some precipitation tomorrow. A cyclonic circulation will bring isolated rain.

In Peninsular India, the cyclonic circulation over North Interior Karnataka and the wind discontinuity will bring only isolated rainfall along the trough line.

At present, the belt of heatwave seems to be comprising of several states in East and Central India. Day temperatures will settle above 40 degree Celsius in East Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Marathwada, Vidarbha, North Interior Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The night temperatures will also be quite high around 28-29 degree Celsius.

West Bengal will remain the hottest pocket of the country. Severe heatwave conditions will prevail in Bankura, Asansol, Burdwan and adjoining areas. Hot winds are blowing from the Northwest Direction over here. Only when the winds change direction and start coming from the sea, we can expect some relief.
