Weather Forecast for Apr 30: Rain in Kerala, South Karnataka, Interior Tamil Nadu

The Western Disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayas. Thus, rainfall activity is expected over the hills of North India including Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh. These rains are expected to intensify after 24 hours.

Its induced cyclonic circulation is over South Punjab. Also, a trough is extending from this system. Thus, dust storm, thunderstorm activities are likely over isolated pockets of North Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh and North Punjab. Delhi is expected to witness hot weather conditions. Heatwave conditions are likely over West Rajasthan.

Moving to East and Northeast, a cyclonic circulation lies over Southeast Uttar Pradesh. Also, a trough is extending up to Manipur. Thus, Rain and thundershowers with isolated heavy falls are expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Manipur with chances of squall over the region. Rains with squalls are also expected over West Bengal, Odisha, and adjoining Jharkhand. Isolated dust storm, thunderstorm are expected over Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh.

Coming to Central India, a trough is extending from Chhattisgarh. Heatwave is likely in parts of East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. Meanwhile, temperatures will continue to be above 40 degrees in Gujarat, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Isolated activity may be seen over South Chhattisgarh and Northeast Madhya Pradesh.

Down South, a trough is extending from Telangana to South Tamil Nadu. Thus, rain and thundershowers with gusty winds may occur over many parts of Kerala, South Karnataka and few areas of Interior Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and isolated pockets of Telangana.

Rains are expected to witness a reduction over South Andaman and Nicobar Islands while the northern parts will see moderate to heavy showers due to the cyclonic circulation over East Central Bay of Bengal.
