April 20, 2018 3:11 PM |

The prevailing Western Disturbance has moved away eastwards. Now, we expect rains to reduce significantly over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The ongoing dust storm and thunderstorm activity over North India will also take a backseat. Thus, temperatures will once again begin to rise. Talking about Delhi, the city will remain hot with partly cloudy sky.

Moving on to Central India, at present central parts are the hottest pockets in the country. Thus, heatwave conditions are expected to continue over parts of Vidarbha and Gujarat. Weather in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh will also remain hot and dry. Meanwhile, Mumbai is expected to be warm and humid.

Talking about East India, a trough is running from North Bangladesh to South Peninsular India across Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha. Another trough is running from Bangladesh to Nagaland. Thus, light to moderate rains will continue over Northeast India. Scattered rains may occur over Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim while isolated thunderstorm and thundershowers are expected over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha. East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand will remain dry. Talking about Kolkata, there are chances of light thundershowers.
