Weather Forecast for Apr 2: Rain in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai

March has ended on a rainy note states including West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, and isolated pockets of Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, temperatures continued to remain above normal and over the 40-degree mark in Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.

Let us take a detailed look at the weather conditions prevailing across the country

A cyclonic circulation lies over Central Pakistan and adjoining Afghanistan. Due to this system, clouding will increase over the Western Himalayas and isolated places may also receive light rain. Meanwhile, dry and warm weather will prevail over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. Weather will continue to sizzle over Rajasthan.

An upper air cyclonic circulation is seen persisting over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura region. Due to this system, light rain and thundershowers may occur over the northeastern states of the country.

A cyclonic circulation lies over Northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Chhattisgarh. An upper air trough is seen extending from Jharkhand across East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha. Due to this system light rain and thundershower along with strong winds may occur over parts of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Kolkata may also receive some rain and thundershower activity.

Meanwhile, heatwave like conditions may occur over parts of Maharashtra, West Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat.

A cyclonic circulation is seen over North Interior Karnataka and adjoining Marathwada. An upper air trough extends from this system to Comorin region across interior parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Due to this, light rain and thundershower activities are possible over Telangana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and South Interior Karnataka. Thus, Bengaluru may witness light rain and thundershowers along with which the possibility of the same cannot be ruled out over Hyderabad as well. At the same time, Chennai also stands a chance of witnessing isolated light thundershower activity.

An upper air cyclonic circulation lies over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea. Due to this system, light to moderate rains may occur over South Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
