A Western Disturbance lies over Jammu and Kashmir, while its induced cyclonic circulation is seen over Pakistan and adjoining Punjab. Due to this, we expect rain and thundershower activities to continue at many places over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, along with few places of Uttarakhand. Isolated pockets of North Punjab and Haryana, may also receive thunderstorm and dust storm activities during the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, weather of Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh will remain dry and very warm.

Dry weather conditions are expected to continue over most parts of central India. In wake of this, temperatures of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Vidarbha are expected to cross 40-degree mark, leading to hot afternoons.
Meanwhile in East and Northeast India, the trough continues to extend from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to South Peninsula across Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha. Due to this system, we expect rain intensity to increase over northeastern states, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
Scattered thundershowers cannot be ruled out over Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha as well. However, weather of Bihar, Jharkhand and East Uttar Pradesh would remain dry.

With the trough running across Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to Interior Tamil Nadu, scattered rain and thundershowers are possible over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Interior Karnataka, Kerala and isolated places of Telangana and Interior Tamil Nadu.
Talking about the weather across major cities of India – A hot day with few clouds is expected over Delhi. Mumbai will witness a hot and humid day with partly cloudy sky with temperatures touching 38-degree mark. Kolkata will observe a very warm and humid day, along with chances of thunderstorm. A hot day with partly cloudy sky and chances of thunderstorm is likely over Hyderabad. Bengaluru will also see a warm day with partly cloudy sky and chances of thunderstorm during evening hours.
