Weather Forecast for Apr 1: Rain in Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hot in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Kashmir, Delhi

It seems that intense heat is no mood to spare parts of Northwest and Central India. Apart from making early arrival over the region, heatwave conditions have been gripping several parts for consecutive days now.

In fact, hills of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh are also facing the brunt of heatwave this time. Not only this, we are not expecting any relief in next 24-48 hours. The maximum temperatures will continue to settle significantly above normal over the hilly areas.

Although in plains, a weak trough is running from Punjab up to Northwest Uttar Pradesh but, due to lack of moisture, the weather would remain hot and dry. South Haryana and North Rajasthan would continue to brave heatwave conditions.

Delhi-NCR would witness a hot and sunny day, with above normal temperatures.

Central India would be no different as heatwave will persist over West Rajasthan, parts of Gujarat and Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. Mercury would also soar across Madhya Pradesh, parts of Chhattisgarh and Marathwada region, leading to heatwave like conditions. No relief is in sight from the prevalent dry and scorching heat in the coming days.

Mumbai would see a warm and humid day. The mercury levels would settle near normal over the city.

Meanwhile,East and Northeast India along with parts of southern India would continue with pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers. A trough is extending from Northeast India up to Chhattisgarh across West Bengal, Jharkhand and Odisha. With this, good rains are expected over parts of Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Coastal Odisha during the next 24 hours.

Intensity of rains would be more over northeastern states that are likely to record light to moderate rain and thundershowers.

Kolkata is expected to witness partly cloudy sky conditions, with possibilities of rain and thundershowers.

Another trough is running extending from East India up to South Interior Karnataka across Telangana. With this, we expect light to moderate rain and thundershowers over Andhra Pradesh, parts of Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, whereas isolated showers are possible over Interior Tamil Nadu.

In fact, day temperatures are likely to drop slightly over the stated areas.

Bengaluru would witness partly cloudy sky conditions, with possibilities of rain and thundershowers. Similar weather conditions would be seen over Chennai, with chances of some thundery activities. Lastly, Hyderabad would witness a hot day. Here, the sky would remain partly cloudy and there are chances of thunderstorm activity during later part of the day
