Weather Forecast Feb 7: Heavy rains, snow in Srinagar, Badrinath; Delhi rains to return

The intense Western Disturbance is over Jammu and Kashmir and its induced Cyclonic Circulation is over parts of Punjab and Haryana and a trough from this is extending up till Bihar. Thus, moderate to heavy rain and snow might lash many places of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

While in plains, rain intensity would further increase over Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh and some parts might witness hailstorms as well. Scattered rains with one or two short spells are a possibility over Delhi and North Rajasthan.

These systems would also start giving scattered rain and thundershowers over East Uttar Pradesh and isolated rain activities can be witnessed over Bihar and Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim by the evening or night of February 7.

Weather of Jharkhand, Odisha and northeastern states would be dry. Minimums over the same are expected to rise marginally.

A trough is seen extending from East Uttar Pradesh up till Telangana across Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. Thus, scattered rain and thundershower activities are expected over Chhattisgarh and isolated spells can be seen over east and northeast Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha. One or two short spells of hailstorms cannot be ruled out over these areas, which can be dangerous for the standing crop.

Both, day and night temperatures because of humid south-westerlies are expected to rise over Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh and parts of Maharashtra.

Down South, a trough is seen extending from East Uttar Pradesh up till Telangana and a confluence zone is seen over Karnataka. Thus, isolated rain and thundershower activities are possible over Telangana and interior parts of Karnataka. Weather of Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai would be dry.
